This involved detailed work on tax, legal and accounting issues relating to the unwinding of a complex corporate structure.\n\nManagement and Financial Reporting Changes – Implemented new monthly internal management reporting focusing on analysis of investment performance and linking this to both internal and external factors in the business environment and the impacts on valuations for monthly and quarterly group reporting. Reports made concise and clear for principal and Director review. \n\nImplementation of New Tax Reporting System – Implementation of a standard template for completion of corporate tax returns for UK entities. Also, management of the process to establish US tax reporting requirements for the extended group comprising 229 entities in total. This involved gaining an understanding of the requirements and implementing a system to obtain standardised forms from all group entities. \n\nCost Analysis and Rationalisation – Involved in the main entity’s detailed expense analysis with a view to reducing the overall cost base. Analysis included the review of contracts and devising efficiencies to improve overall profitability. Reviews were ongoing and to an ever-decreasing level of materiality in line with a group in a wind-down process.\n\nManaging Cash Extraction from Investee Companies – required analysis of forecast results and actual results to both plan and carry out dividend payments within the group.
